Digifinds and Reviews

I found a freebie blog that offers good quality freebies called Midnight Scrapping.  Looks like some good stuff.

Heather’s Digital Creations has some cute Halloween word art offered up as a freebie.

Magical Dream Designs is offering up a freebie quick page based on an adorable kit by Joelle.

Occasionally, in my endless search for something unique in digital scrapbooking, I come across a site that truly stands out.  After Five Designs is in my top five picks for favorite places to pick up hot new digital kits.  As far as the forum goes, it is a bit limited in scope as it does not seem to offer much in the way of tutorials.  But like most people who probably visit After Five, I don’t go there to learn about digital scrapbooking techniques.  I go there to get inspiration and check out the latest trends.

They sponsor a monthly challenge called “On the House” that offers a decent freebie mini-kit.  At the store, you’ll see a lot of kits that seem more feminine than masculine.  There are a lot of floral accents and a good deal of the color schemes lack the kind of contrast that I would prefer to see in a well-rounded kit, but the pieces are top quality and work well together.  I have several of their monthly collaboration kits and am always impressed with how well the papers and elements fit together.

Two recent outstanding kits are shown below.  The 5×7 album quickpages are designed to be uploaded to a photobook site and are exquisitely designed.

The Red Wine kit gives you an idea of the feminine aspect of the designs on this site.

Overall, I have to give After Five Designs a thumbs up for quality and innovative digital designs.

I was going through some of my old original kits I designed to sell and came across my “Vintage Flair” collection.   I still love the way this turned out and even though the kit itself isn’t for sale, I’m going to give you a little slice of it for free.  I hope you like it!  Enjoy!

There are eleven pieces to this set.  Make sure you read the Terms of Use file.  Hope you like it!

And keep checking back because I’ll be reviewing After 5 Designs later this evening, which has some very innovative designs in digital scrapbooking.

When I first discovered digital scrapbooking and starting checking out sites that gave things away for free, Shabby Princess was one of the first sites that really caught my attention.  Lots of sites give some things away for free.  However, many of these are either low-quality full-size kits or decent mini-kits.  Shabby Princess is neither of these.

Happy Go Lucky by Shabby Princess

Every couple of months, Shabby Princess releases a brand-new kit and gives it away for free.  The quality is fantastic, the style is eye-catching, and the colors are incredibly easy to use.  Make sure you sign up for their e-mail newsletter so you can know when a new kit comes out.

Also, they have some truly great kits for sale which include calendar kits with which you can make your own custom calendars using your photos.  I highly recommend this site for both free resources as well as quality kits for sale.

I’m Steph.  I’m going to be getting you acquainted with some of the best websites for downloading free kits, top quality kits for sale, tutorials, new sizzling tips for the top photo-editing programs and the hottest trends in digital scrapbooking.  If you enjoy my articles, please let me know.  And give a heads up to your favorite designer or digiscrapping site!  We want everybody to know about this site!  Enjoy!
